Mr. Edington Makarudze

Mr. Eddington Dzingai Makarudze was born on September 8, 1956, in Zimbabwe. He is a visionary, self-driven, honest, and hardworking individual dedicated to his faith, family, and career. Married with children, Makarudze currently resides in Hatfield, Harare, Zimbabwe, where he plays various roles not only in the professional field but also as a community leader, motivator, counselor, and church leader.


Educationally, Mr. Makarudze is self-taught to a significant extent, working diligently from primary school through sixth form and beyond. He holds a Teacher’s Certificate from Mutare Teachers College (1977), pursued A-levels at Sakubva Secondary School (1978), and earned a Diploma from the Institute of Marketing Management (South Africa). He also attended an Executive Development Program at the University of Zimbabwe in 1998. Presently, he is concluding his MBA, with only the dissertation remaining.


Eddington boasts a robust employment history spanning over four decades in various sectors. He began his career in education, teaching at both primary and high schools between 1978 and 1985. Following his teaching period, he joined Delta Beverages, where he dedicated 22 years, holding various marketing roles and even engaging in consultancy. His tenure at Delta included international assignments in Mozambique, Zambia, and Kenya, contributing to his proficiency in English, Shona, Swahili, and Portuguese.

Mr. Makarudze's career also includes pivotal roles in marketing and operations at companies like Anchor Yeast Zimbabwe, Apex Corporation, and New Smart Ways. He has been a Marketing Director at New Foods, contributing significantly to the retail group's strategic planning and implementation.

His entrepreneurial spirit shines through his founding of NewSmart Ways, where he imported yeast into Zimbabwe. He later transformed this venture into NewFoods, running supermarkets and manufacturing beverages. Concurrently, he initiated a family business named Catstaw, acting as an agent for National Tested Seeds.


In addition to his impressive professional journey, Mr. Makarudze is deeply involved in his community and church. He is a deacon at The Churches of Christ in Zimbabwe, where he commands deep respect. Serving as the President of the National Men’s Fellowship in Zimbabwe, he is recognized as a natural leader, eloquent speaker, and compelling orator.
