Mr. Prince Rufaro Makaya has cultivated an illustrious career spanning over two decades, marked by an extraordinary blend of expertise in agriculture, Christian ministry, media production, and non-profit management, currently residing in Nairobi, Kenya.


Beginning his professional journey with a focus on smallholder agricultural development, Mr. Prince Makaya dedicated the initial phase of his career to the field of agriculture. He provided invaluable horticultural extension support to field staff and farmers and played a pivotal role in the dissemination of agroforestry technologies at the International Center for Research in Agroforestry.


With an unwavering commitment to Christian ministry, Prince and his wife made a life-altering decision to resign from their jobs and immerse themselves in ministry training at Johnson Bible College (now Johnson University). Here, he sharpened his focus on the Bible and Media, gaining proficiency in audio and video production.


Upon completing his re-training, Mr. Makaya joined Good News Productions International in Joplin, Missouri. Starting as a Production Manager in their Nairobi office, he was not only integral to the production of award-winning videos for broadcast but also instrumental in the establishment of an audio recording studio and the training of its staff.

His career trajectory is a testament to his versatility and ability to seamlessly navigate through multicultural teams on a global scale. A self-starter and a motivating force, Prince leads by example, inspiring team members to give their best.


Mr. Prince Makaya's body of work has garnered significant recognition, with several of his productions winning or being nominated for awards of excellence, including Gold & Silver Crown Awards in the USA and nominations at the Groove Awards.


Educationally, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Bible & Media Communications from Johnson University, a Master of Science from the University of London's Wye College (Imperial College), and a Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Crop Science from the University of Zimbabwe.


In 2014, Mr. Makaya co-founded Liberty Visions, a non-governmental organization, with his wife. Serving as the Media Director, he oversees video production, photography, and freelance work for various Christian ministries, among other responsibilities. His commitment to Christian ministry is further highlighted by his involvement in Liberty Visions Learning Center, a free primary school initiated and run by his wife in Nairobi.


Throughout his career, Mr. Makaya has not only displayed an array of skills and competencies but has also demonstrated an unwavering commitment to his work, whether in the field of agriculture, media production, or Christian ministry. With a rich history of diverse roles and responsibilities, he continues to contribute significantly to each field he touches, leading with vision, expertise, and a deep sense of commitment to service.
