Rev. Edwin Magwidi

Mr. Edwin Magwidi, born on April 5, 1965, in Zimbabwe, is a dedicated Christian, educator, and pastor with a rich history of service in religious studies and ministry. Married and a proud Zimbabwean. 


In the realm of academics, Mr, Magwidi has accumulated impressive credentials with a Diploma in Religious Studies from the University of Zimbabwe in 1999. He further enhanced his academic profile by obtaining a BA with Honors in Religious Studies in 2002 and a Master’s in Religious Studies in 2005 from the same esteemed institution. He has also pursued professional qualifications related to his field, including certificates and diplomas from various reputable institutes in Zimbabwe.


Mr. Magwidi has dedicated a significant part of his career to ministry, actively participating since 2007. He has served in various capacities including Coordinator (Current-ongoing), Senior Pastor, Preaching and Teaching Pastor, and Part-time Lecturer. His commitment to teaching and ministry is further highlighted through his roles at institutions like United Theological College, University of Zimbabwe, New Life Bible College, and Zimbabwe Christian College. Furthermore, Edwin has been a senior chaplain at the University of Zimbabwe from 2014 to July 2020.

In addition to his service in the ministry, Mr. Magwidi was a Head of Department at the Ministry of Education from 2006 to 2007, where he was responsible for Divinity and History for 'A' level students at Muterere High School. He was also a Teacher-In-Charge at Bore Secondary School under the Ministry of Education, Sport, and Culture from 2005 to 2006.


Prior to his illustrious career in ministry and education, Mr. Magwidi worked in various positions, including Assistant Welder at Hencas Engineering from 1991 to 1993 and as a Sugar Packer and Machine Operator at Triangle Limited from 1987 to 1991.


Throughout his career, Edwin has maintained active involvement with multiple religious and development organizations, serving in leadership roles such as Vice Chairman, Board Member, Trustee, Pastor, Teacher, and Minister. Currently, he holds the position of Senior Pastor at Dzivarasekwa Church of Christ, a role he has embodied since 2013, actively participating in preaching and teaching.

With years of experience and a multitude of roles in religious and academic institutions, Magwidi stands as a respected figure in both his professional and religious communities.
